Starting Point: Ilulissat Town Center
The race begins in the heart of Ilulissat, Greenland’s third-largest town, known for its vibrant local culture and Arctic charm. The starting line sets the tone with cheering locals, traditional Greenlandic music, and a festive atmosphere that contrasts with the serene wilderness ahead.
Section 1: Urban to Coastal Trail (0-8km)
Runners first navigate through the colourful streets of Ilulissat, passing by historic landmarks and local markets. Soon, the course transitions to a well-maintained coastal trail, offering sweeping views of the Davis Strait, where glimpses of marine wildlife like seals or whales are common.
Section 2: Arctic Tundra Path (8-18km)
This section leads participants across rugged, undulating tundra terrain, with soft moss, rocky outcrops, and delicate Arctic flora.
